acrodynia ac·ro·dyn·ia (āk’rō-dĭn’ē-ə)
n.
a syndrome in children and infants caused by mercury poisoning, characterized by erythema of the extremities, chest, and nose, polyneuritis, and gastrointestinal disorders. also called dermatopolyneuritis, erythredema, pink disease, swift’s disease.
a syndrome -ssociated with ingestion of mercury by adults, characterized by photophobia, sweating, and tachycardia.
