this term is derived from akihabara, the area of tokyo known as “electric town.” akihabara is an area with a huge amount of electronic devices, cells, computers, games, video games etc. this term is used synonymously with otaku. a geek or nerd. usually someone with no social life or love life. one who is majorly into anime, manga, and electronics.
