anachronymism
an abbreviation or acronym that has become obsolete. derived from the word acronym and anachronism.
cc at the end of a letter — meaning carbon copy (sheets of ink-coated paper were placed between blank sheets in a typewriter, producing multiple copies). actual carbon copies are virtually unknown but the “cc” persists as shorthand for multiple copies.
