Atascadero State Hospital
ash is located on the california central coast. it’s the largest free standing forensic mental hospital in the world. it house several prison and civil committemnts including pc-1370 (incompetent to stand trial) , mdo, mentally disordered offender, pc-1026 (not guilty by reason of insanity), and wic-6600 (s-xually violent predators). there’s a funny but insightful book called ‘the sweet smell of ash in the morning’ if you curious and have a good sense of humor. although i’ve seen it and wouldn’t let kids read it!
