aussiball rules is a derogatory term for the sport commonly known as aussie rules or sometimes australian rules.
the infantile connotation pokes fun at the absurdity of the sport and the belief that a game once known only as melbourne rules has the same impact on world sport as football does.
the term is mostly used by people in queensland and new south wales, but also by victorians who are sick of being called h-m-s-xual for liking football or rugby.
