comes from the bloom county comic strip where opus is sitting in fron to of a tv watching a mr. roger’s type tv show. “mr. roger’s” is interviewing d-ck clark and asks several questions. the answer d-ck gives is muttered incoherently by a dozing opus. “mr. r” asks about d-ck’s tv show, american bandstand. to which opus utters, “bandlsplat.” the next question is how d-ck stays so young looking. d-ck responds, “by staying in touch with america’s young people.”
opus responds, “facelift.”
