when one parks one’s car “backwards” in a parking sp-ce, facing outwards. so called because the car can make a quick exit from the sp-ce, as if it were needed in battle.
my next-door neighbor is a volunteer firefighter, so he always battle parks his pickup truck just in case he’s needed in a hurry.
