i read some of these and i wanted to say that ‘beor’ doesn’t mean b-tch or babe, it just means girl and it isn’t just used in limerick. it’s used all over ireland. i’m irish so don’t -ssume i’m wrong. also, it’s not just a traveller’s word.

fíona meaning wine and beor meaning beer are usually found on the same page of basic irish books, usually in, the food and drink secion. somehow this drunk probably in 4th cl-ss has started a tradition of calling a girl a beor (beer) and knacker(guy) a fíon(wine).
