a subgenre of science fiction, closely related to and often overlapping with cyberpunk. it is usually set in a futuristic environment.

biopunk media usually encomp-sses themes such as genetic manipulation, fictional diseases, cell experimentation and other forms of biotechnology. common characters include mad scientists and mutants.
