a bootesy is another term for a player who is dismissed without scoring a run in cricket. a first-ball dismissal is called a ‘golden bootesy’, dismissed without facing a ball is called a ‘diamond bootesy’, and a dismissal in the first ball of the innings is called a ‘king bootesy’.
