breacation
(noun) when there is, for whatever, reason, time off from your job or school, and you choose to spend that time away from your home/town. differs from vacation in that you are not taking extra time off from work/education, but are using the time off given to you to travel.
for the thanksgiving holiday, i took a breacation to pennslyvania instead of hanging with my extended family at home.
