BS-Over


the quick, half-hearted cleaning of a person or a room that serves as a temporary, appearance-only fix. this is usually employed to impress someone or evade punishment, and is most effective when no one bothers to inspect the object of the bs-over very closely.
benny realized that jill would be over any minute for their date and he didn’t have time to take a shower, so he performed a bs-over on his appearance by getting his hair wet and spraying on some cologne.

agnes’ parents were visiting for the weekend, and if she hadn’t taken good care of the house, they threatened to stay instead of returning to their world cruise. in a panic, she used the bs-over method, stuffing bags and clothes into closets and spraying everything with windex.
