Carmining
the act of adding in a new character to a story for the sole purpose of killing him/her, usually early on. this is a reference to gears of war, where the carmine characters were killed off early and often.
person 1: i’m writing a war story were everyone dies.
person 2: how do you keep it so long?
person 1: i add a character to advance the plot, then kill him off.
person 2: quit carmining, man!
