a casual nerd knows alot about nerdly type things without actually being a nerd.can tell you alot about comic book heros without having read any comic books. knows alot about star trek but cannot tell you episodes or movie names. owned a commodore 64 but never ordered pizza with the “sam” voice emulator.
“wow, tom knows alot about superman, he must have a big collection of comics”. “no man, he doesn’t collect that sh-t, he’s just a casual nerd”.
