spoken or chanted corny rhyming lyrics. a blend of silly, fun, joyful and sometimes nonsensical subjects. spoken word songs with beats, lyrics and rhymes, chintzy style. quirky rap. hip-hop styles with corny overtones. goofy lyrics with cutesy
costumes and backgrounds. it’s anything goes rap, in most cases for a g-rated audience. although the fresh prince didn’t use the term, i think he ran the cheesy rap kingdom in the late 80’s
jazzy jeff and the fresh prince produced popular cheesy rap in the mid to late 80’s.
