chilumen
a measurement unit of light invented by chinese manufacturers of bicycle lights and flashlights. also known as “chinese lumens.” one chilumen is usually equal to about 1/2 to 2/3 of a regular lumen. if a product’s luminosity is advertised with the disclaimer of “manufacturer rated” then the lumen rating is actually in chilumens.
“i just bought a 5000 lumen light for my bike.”
“man, no way is that light 5000 lumens, it’s 5000 chilumens.”
