Chinese Tsunami


the act of discriminating a certain group to be the scapegoat so that the accuser can escape, seemingly blameless, innocent and sincere; however, the blame is a blatant misdirection and as such, likely to backfire on the accuser.

origin: the prime minister and chairperson of malaysia’s ruling coalition (national front) attributed the poor performance of the coalition in malaysia’s 13th general election, and the corresponding support to opposition parties, to a phenomenon dubbed “tsunami of the chinese community” – or “chinese tsunami” for short.
the project manager is pinning the blame on the labourers again, blaming their laziness for the delays in the project. but that accusation is just chinese tsunami – we all know his poor planning skills are the cause.
