chuffed out
chuffed is a northern word for “happy” really happy. so “chuffed out” can literally mean happy beyond comprehension.
it also has a darker meaning: knackered, beyond caring, blown away.
1/ i’d just bought a new porsche and was completely chuffed out.
2/ we had been in the pub for hours; dave was the worst for wear, he was completely chuffed out.
