this is similar to friends with benefits with a spin on it. it refers to the people who work together and hook up. they aren’t in a serious relationship with each other, they only use each other for s-x. and if they are married, not to each other, even better.
in the movie, secretary, the character played by james spader and the character played by maggie gyllenhall were co-workers with benefits.
