not emo. unfortunately, if you write lyrics that are borderline depressing you get labeled “emo” when their music is more in line with other bands of that areas like modest mouse, and even the shins.

a great talented indie rock band that has unfortunately been called an ’emo’ band. all the emo rockers that listened to taking back sunday and brand new heard death cab for cutie and loved them. since emo kids are totally lame and stupid, they started to call death cab ’emo.’ death cab for cutie is a pop-indie band, not emo.
calling death cab for cutie an ’emo’ band is like calling slayer a country band.

an amazing band that should be commended for their awesome melodic tunes and beautiful lyrical talent.
seeing them live was easily the best concert i have ever been to. they sound exactly the same as they do recorded, and 4 weeks later, i am still in awe of their remarkable talent. i will always always love death cab.
my favourite songs for newcomers who would like to download some death cab for cutie ; i was a kaleidoscope, styrofoam plates, p-ssenger seat, blacking out the friction, expo ’86, hindsight, company calls, what sarah said and i will follow you into the dark.
the sound of settling is death cab at it’s worst. i hate that song.
