when someone (often a patient in a medical setting) is on the verge of death and releases their bowels in a smelly flatulent display. it is an unquestionable sign of death. the soul leaves the body at this point.
we were doing cpr on the guy in room 7, and it seemed to be going well until he had a death shart.
