Infantile muscular atrophy
infantile muscular atrophy n.
Progressive muscular wasting due to degeneration of motor neurons in the anterior horns of the spinal cord, with onset usually in the first year of life. Also called familial spinal muscular atrophy, infantile progressive spinal muscular atrophy.
