dollarcide

a term coined among some internet forums, dslreports.com being a prime example. it means that a member has decided to discontinue being active on their account and no longer wishes to partic-p-te on the boards. the terminology was devised because a dollar sign would be placed after the username when they did dollarcide. username fartness was suddenly changed to fartness$.
user1: i wonder where user3 has been lately?
user2: you didn’t hear? he ended up a dollarcide.
user1: that’s unfortunate.
