a smug statement used by biochemical engineers while in conversation with chemists, once this is said it will often cause a heated debate between the two scientists. this relates to the fact the the e.coli bacteria can be modifided to produce chemical compounds, stealing the job of chemists.
chemist: ‘i’m designing a process to produce a new anti-a.i.ds medication’
biochem engineer: ‘you do know that e.coli does it better’
