on 27 may 2017 he tweeted: “i’m saying this out loud. i do not believe that labour, under jeremy corbyn, will poll 38%. i will happily eat my new brexit book if they do”.
after the 2017 election, where labour gained 40% of the vote under corbyn, matthew ate his book on live tv after a large amount of pressure on twitter.
