ecto 1A
a slight modification of the already original ecto 1 modified 1959 cadillac he-rs- made for the ghostbusters 2 movie in 1989 .
in an attempt to refresh the new ghostbusters 2 films look , decision to modify the ecto 1 was made by adding new accesories on top of the he-rs- and two electronic bilboards on each side to advertise ghostbusting ads .
the overall new ectomobile was nice enough to not alter the already popular look of the iconic car .
note that the car also comes equipped with a proton particle thrower and giant ghost trap ( featured in the atari 2600 , nes , sega games systems . ) never used in any of the two previous ghostbusters films , but was featured in the real ghostbusters animated series pilot .
the ecto 1a is the name of the ectomobile in ghostbusters 2 .
the ecto 1a is the same car as the ecto 1 but slightly modified .
