a term used to describe different words, spelled using the same combination of numbers on a standard cellular phone keypad. etynyms are most common in “t9” texting mode.
“pint” and “shot” are etynyms, since both are spelled with the keys 7-4-6-8
“hand” and “game” are etynyms, as both are spelled with 2-4-6-3
