an in-game object, in the form of a barrel, that when agitated by a player or npc, will cause a damage dealing explosion.
this object is often cliched throughout the video game industry but does not detract from the fun of it.
sam: oh look! sarcasm an exploding barrel… how typical.
tim: dude, exploding barrels are amazing.
