a collection of fomer bear stearns employees who coined the phrase ‘flying/dying’ to cover the huge volatilty that was endemic in the equities markets from 06-10

the term also describes the state of fear and euphoria that was prevelant in the market, driven as traders and fund managers scrambled to either sell longs or cover shorts in fear of losing out on mkt performance’
‘whoa omar.. this market is flying!!!’.. ‘uh-oh bad news from the non-farms, now we are dying wardy’.. ‘will this mkt make up its mine if its flying/dying squeer??’
