at a dinner table, when there’s nothing to talk about but the food. (usually awkward and directionless conversation)
justin: “how’s that steak treating ya?”

rick: (finishes chewing) “it’s good… how’s your pasta?”

justin: “it’s good….”

(awkward silence ensues)

rick: (thinking to himself) “that conversation was such food fodder”
