Fort Erie
this is a border town named after a british military fort (the landmark has little interest) and it doesn’t have anything going for it except a beautiful old horse racetrack (fort erie racetrack) that always seems to be on the verge of becoming a waste land, like the rest of the town. the residents are mostly poor and uneducated and spend their time playing bingo wishing they lived in niagara falls. racetrackers keep the town going because n-body else cares about the place and the coffee shops live off them. nickname: fort wearie.
