verb. the act of dishonestly checking in to a remote or private foursquare location from elsewhere – usually with a view to;
taking control of ‘mayorship’, earning extra points or giving the false impression of being somewhere else.
demarked by the use of #4squat tag on social media websites.
increasingly used as a way of showing support for an individual or a place when done as part of a ‘swarm’ to falsely ‘occupy’ a foursquare location.
foursquare says i’ve got 5 people in my house, but there’s no one here. they must be foursquatters.
