the practice of cancelling a show that is loved by critics and viewers, usually within only weeks of premiereing it, thus not even giving it a real chance to catch on.
usually done by the fox network, which then replaces said shows (greg the bunny, family guy, firefly, wonderfalls) with utter sh-t (fastlane, some reality show cr-p).
“huh, this show is unique, funny, well-produced, and really interesting. they’ll foxecute it by next week and replace it with ‘who wants to marry my big fat obnoxious network tv exec?'”
