a term applied to activities, events, and motion pictures supposedly geared towards all members of a family: from infants to grandparents. in all actuality, the term means “fun for everyone except for teenagers and people with an iota of sense”.
mother: “why don’t you watch this asinine disney movie with us? it’s fun for the whole family!”
adolescent: “no, it’s fun for annoying little kids and old people who wish they were that young again. i would much rather eat a light bulb than kill my brain cells watching that sh-t.”
