an unnecessary line of dialogue(attributed to the screenwriter, david s. goyer) intended to make the speaker look n-ble or sophisticated, but comes across as pretentious lip service.
that line about the civil war in batman begins is a cl-ssic goyerism right there.
i face palmed at that goyerism when thomas wayne tells little bruce about how the waynes built a train for the less fortunate.
