hallway friend

someone you know from one of your cl-sses that you get along with, but arent really friends with. you would never hang out with them in public, but you dont mind talking to them in cl-ss and waving to them in the hallway when you see them. as shallow as this may sound, we all have at least one hallway friend.
girl 1: hey were going to the beach this weekend. wanna come?

girl 2: fer sure.

girl 1: you can invite your friend jane if you want.

girl 2: no way! i only know her because she was in my physics cl-ss. shes just a hallway friend.
