to hit someone with an unpredictable act (verbal/physical) after being done dirty. it is that second action after yelling “motherf-cker!” the phrase can be used by the actors or the audience seeing the act.
johnnie: dude, i hate to tell you but i f-cked ya girl
billie: “motherf-cker” (hits and lays out johnnie)
onlooking group: “d-mn, he got hit with the mf!”

kelly: brian, im pregnant but it may not be yours.
brian: wait, you tell me you preggo and then hit me with the mf.
