humanitas
a latin word created by cicero to describe a good man, one who is educated in literary culture (esp. the cl-ssics) and is therefore civilized
the humanism of the italian renissance is derived from the latin humanitas
a high school program involving cl-sses between ae and honors. students work as a team with devoted teachers that are chosen by the school’s humanitas coordinator. they go on field trips inside and outside of school, that involve whatever it is they study in cl-ss. cl-sses link certain subjects together; for example, if in history, students are learning about the industrial revolution, they might read something in english cl-ss by an author writing during that time period. humanitas is a kick-ss program, and everyone in it is part of the family.
