the p-ssive process by which one learns of something via a. social networks or b. other forms of internet-based informational services. it is key to note that the knowledge in question must be about something one does not have first-hand exposure to and/or experience with.
used most specifically in reference to second-hand knowledge of internet-based phenomena/culture such as a meme.
etymology: an adaptation of osmosis as defined as a study method.
