Internet Sigh
a comment written in one’s status box (e.g. mysp-ce, facebook or other similar social networking web sites), or other publicly visible area to generate sympathy, attention and/or reaction from one’s internet friends. the statement must be vague, yet rife with emotion (see also, emo) in order to generate the appropriate level of attention or sympathy.
examples of internet sighs, include, but are not limited to:
• “sometimes i wonder if it’s worth it?”,
• “that’s it, i give up!!!”,
• “does (s)he think i’m stupid???”,
• “i hate (wo)men”
note that the use of three exclamation points or question marks indicates the need for an immediate response. repeating similar comments will continue until one gets the desired response.
