Jibarito
the jibarito (pr-nounced hee-bah-ree-to), a specialty of chicago, is a sandwich made with flattened, fried green plantains instead of bread. a proper jibarito also contains cheese, lettuce, tomato and garlic-flavored mayonnaise.
when jose and his family went to the puerto rican resturant, they all ordered jibaritos for lunch.
