Joanna Newsom
joanna newsom is a singer-songwriter harpist from nevada city, ca. she’s released two records on drag city, “the milk eyed mender” (2004) and “ys” (2006). both were critically acclaimed, especially ys which received many 5 star reviews and placements on critic top 10 lists. ys also featured arrangements from legendary beach boys collaborator van dyk- parks as well as production by steve albini and mixing by former sonic youth member jim o’rourke.

an inexplicably up-and-coming harpist, harpsichordist, singer, and songwriter with a very distinctive singing style and a more than eccentric fanbase.
