when a computer or machine becomes unnaturally attached to a previous owner or administrator, resisting all attempts at reconfiguration, despite the fact that the person has moved on, it is said to have johnny’s robot syndrome.
origin: in the j-panese live-action television show johnny sokko and his flying robot, johnny sokko talks into a wrist-watch controller, and thereafter giant robot responds to his commands alone.
man, that bob guy hasn’t worked here in years, but all of the automated reports still have his name on top. that computer has a bad case of johnny’s robot syndrome.
