Juniata Park

better known simply as juniata, a neighborhood in lower northeast philadelphia (considered by some to be in north philly), bordered by frankford, feltonville, hunting park, harrowgate, kensington, northwood, and port richmond. the working-cl-ss neighborhood suffered a steep decline beginning in the late 1990s/early 2000s, largely due to white flight and section 8 abuse.
former juniata park resident 1: man, i’m glad we got out of juniata when we did. it really went downhill.

former juniata park resident 2: yeah, it used to be such a nice neighborhood. never thought it woulda got that bad.
