kitteringham is a type of ham that makes a kitter sound when you throw it against a wall. a tradition practised by californians.
the last name originated from a long line of butchers who specially made “kittering hams,” thus creating the kitteringham family.
the nickname “kitteringham” may also refer to a large bunch of crazy people who are somewhat wanna-be gangsters, but not quite.
