obscure southern wisconsin slang for chinese food, thought to have originated in affluent latino neighborhoods in l.a. the fact that fortune cookies were invented in san francisco is a meaningless coincidence. though the meaning has gradually expanded to loosely encomp-ss all asian cuisine, it still refers primarily to chinese buffet restaurants that feature a mongolian bbq. no one really knows why.
