when one feels pressured to laugh at something after the joke has just p-ssed. this usually occurs when someone friend, peer, etc. laughs hysterically at a joke, while you remain silent. to make it appear that you’re not a total dipsh-t, some may grunt afterwards, or even laugh a few seconds later; both ways show that you are socially awkward when it comes to the timing of your laugh.
