when some one tells you a sarcastic remark or comment and you respond in a way that you think is funny/cheeky but does the opposite. it makes you seem weird/humourless/stupid/full of yourself/ a wanna-be etc
sam: i am so much more talented then her!

sam: i model and dance and omg i do soo much work its crazy i am like the next new thing! i am like the greatest people should just love me! bla bla blaa.
dan: uhh, right.. stop leafing off.. learn to take a joke.
