a ridiculous term made up by republican pundits in order to sell books to the right-wing echo chamber. the idea here is that fascists believed in big government, and so do most leftists, therefore leftists are the real fascists and no true right-winger could be a fascist.
of course, people who don’t watch fox news hate fascists for being murderous, racist, anti-intellectual, aggressive, h-m-phobic, authoritarian, and religiously bigoted, not for believing in big government.
