lochaber axe
1. a medieval battle axe originating from the scottish highlands. the axe was used to pull down armored cavalry and allow the user to then killed the dismounted soldier. the axe itself usually has a hook on the end to allow the user to grab and pull down the armored soldier more efficiently.
2. a axe-themed variation of the traditional halberd. the lochaber has several variations ranging from a spear-like shape to something closely resembling as axe.
